X Marks the Spot is a short, free-to-play quest in Oldschool Runescape. It is focused on introducing players to Great Kourend and clue scrolls. During the quest, players will help Veos find buried treasure in Lumbridge.

Guide to complete X Marks the Spot
Speak with Veos in Lumbridge at the Sheared Ram to start this quest. Next you will need to dig at the four locations marked by a green pin-point in the image above.
The first location is at Bob’s Brilliant Axes shop. Dig right under the north-wester window of the small room attached to the shop, one tile west of the plant against the wall. For the second spot, dig behind the castle, outside of the kitchen back-door and 1 tile south-west of the large crate.
Next, travel to Draynor Village and dig north-west of the jail, 4 tiles north of the bush near Leela. After this, go to the pig pen near Martin the Master Gardener and dig inside of the pen.
Finally, go to Veos at Port Sarim docks and use the ancient casket on him to complete the quest.
Quest Rewards
After full completion of this quest, players will receive 1 quest point, 200 coins, an antique lamp that rewards 300 experience in any chosen skill and a beginner clue scroll.
