Cupidus Late Game Build Guide
In this part of the guide we will look at Cupidus in the Late Game scenarios. This build will be a PvE variant and based on the Unkillable CB composition. In this case you do not need to worry about survivability, and can focus on maximising damage.
It is worth noting that Сupidus can be used in any Unkillable composition since his skills do not require specific conditions. The HP burn debuff and the Aura that increases damage to allies looks quite attractive. In this build, Cupidus is completely booked.
Masteries
For best results on CB Warmaster T6 mastery is the number one choice. Single Out from the Offense branch and other damage increasing masteries are selected. The second branch depends on your team composition. If they are built around the Unkillable buff, then it is better to use the Defense branch and Retribution mastery to increase the overall damage. However, if your team is built around the Block Damage buff, then it is better to take the Support branch and the Master Hexer to extend the duration of HP burn.
As usual for Unkillable, no TM increasing masteries can be selected in order to keep the speed tune.
Gear & Stats Build
Cupidus is showcased in an Unkillable team with Helicath. It is the most budget team with low speed requirements. Our main goal is to gain the necessary speed for this team (175 for Cupidus in this build). If landing HP burn debuff is needed 230 Accuracy is required. Increasing offensive stats is the next priority.
Savage or Lethal sets are a luxury choice, but you can take any other sets like Perception, Cruel or Speed and other. The only condition is that sets and accessories do not manipulate the Turn Meter or grant the champion Extra Turns.
Recommended Main Stats:
- Gloves – Crit Damage or Crit Rate if you can’t reach 100% Crit Rate with Crit Damage Gloves
- Chest – ATK%
- Boots – Speed/ATK%
- Ring – ATK
- Amulet – Crit Damage
- Banner – Accuracy/ATK.
Revenge and Refresh Accessory for Cupidus can be used and are a good option to increase the damage.
UNM Clan Boss Team
If you have the right champions and good gear it is possible to 1 key on UNM Clan Boss. However, this build will focus on the budget version that can 2 key UNM. Here is an example of most budgetary team:
- Helicath with 247 speed (246 – 248 range) in 2 Crit Damage sets and a Perception set.
- Doompriest with 187 speed (186 – 188 range) for cleansing debuffs from 2 AOE and Stun.
- Cupidus with 175 speed (175 – 178 range) for dps and HP burn debuff plus good aura.
- Fayne with 176 speed (175 – 179 range) for Decrease DEF and Weaken debuffs plus Poisons.
- Skullcrusher with 173 speed (173 – 177 range) is the stun target with Unkillable buff but you can use any other campion for different affinities.
Doompriest can be replaced by any champion with the Block Debuffs buff on a three turn cooldown, but must be replaced by a champion position with a speed of 173-177.
Faction Wars
In faction wars, Cupidus will help on any stage dealing good damage on the waves. AOE attacks and good aura help clear waves faster. However, Cupidus is an attack champion and has low HP and DEF so he needs good supports to stay alive.
Here is an example of a team to level 21:
- Cupidus for dps.
- Tallia for dps and Weaken debuff.
- Deacon Armstrong for AOE Decrease DEF debuff and tm manipulation.
- Godseeker Aniri to revive and healing.
- Adriel for healing.
Arena
Although this build focuses on PvE content, Cupidus can be used in Arena with this build while changing the T6 mastery to Helmsmasher. While this will not take you to Platinum (next page covers the Late Game+ strategy) it’s still viable.
First variant of a Speed team with Cupidus (without Venus):
- Morrigaine for tm boost and Increase SPD buff.
- Ramantu Drakesblood for strip all buffs from enemies and locking their passives and active skills.
- Prince Kymar for SPD aura, streap buffs and Sleep debuff.
- Cupidus for dps.
In this team Cupidus doesn’t have Increase ATK buff and Decrease DEF debuff on enemies. And as a result, he cannot cope with all enemies and is lacking in damage. Next, we make a replacement to increase the damage output of the team and add Madame Serris.
Second variant of team:
- Morrigaine for tm boost and Increase SPD buff.
- Madame Serris for strip all buffs and place Decrease DEF and ATK debuff on enemies.
- Prince Kymar for SPD aura, buff removal and Sleep debuff.
- Cupidus for dps.
Now Cupidus has enough damage to blow away the enemy team. If you add Arbiter, then the damage will increase even more and will be at a decent level. However, more serious opponents are too tough for such a team and the way to deal with them is covered in the next section.
Cupidus End Game Arena Build Guide
The most effective use of Cupidus in the Arena is achieved utilising his synergy with Venus. His passive skill is activated and he always counterattacks when attacked. This allows you to deal significant damage to the enemy team. In addition, his passive skill works even if Venus dies. That strategy can work well in Platinum Arena even during reset making it a meta duo if utilised correctly.
In this guide, we will only look at the Cupidus Arena build. To achieve maximum efficiency, Cupidus needs books in A1 to maximise his damage potential.
Masteries
For high damage Offense tree and Helmsmasher T6 number one choice, but Flawless Execution is a second best option if you cannot reach 100% Crit Rate and 230+ Crit Damage. Heart of Glory and Bring it Down as well as other masteries that increase damage, will be useful to us. The second branch with Defense with Retribution and Deterrence masteries can be selected to deal more damage and provide some survivability. There is a high chance that Cupidus will be attacked by champions or skills that ignore defences and shields. Bloodthirst and Life Drinker provide a chance for him to heal back and stay in the fight longer.
It is worth noting that Arena with an abundance of Polymorph blessings makes high Accuracy a problem and as such it’s not recommended. The best Blessing for Cupidus is Lightning Cage to protect the support buffs that he will be protected with.
Gear & Stats Build
There are 2 most common options for Cupidus gear in Arena:
- Savage or Lethal sets for maximum damage. This is the number one choice if you have Nekhret the Great as he can protect Cupidus from enemy damage dealers with a shield and block debuffs.
- Stone Skin set for survivability. If you are not a happy owner of Nekhret, Cupidus needs to be protected from enemy damage dealers. Although with this option the damage will be less this will allow Cupidus to stay alive.
There are other options too, but they are less effective and not as common. In addition to artifacts Reaction Accessories are a highly important aspect. They allow him to avoid Critical Damage that is the bread and butter of Arena teams. Speed should be minimal so that the Reaction Accessories and Stoneskin effects remain active for as long as possible.
Recommended Main Stats:
- Gloves – Crit Damage
- Chest – ATK%
- Boots – ATK%
- Ring – ATK
- Amulet – Crit Damage
- Banner – ATK.
Arena Tactics & Team Composition
The tactics for the Venus Cupidus duo are quite simple. Any damage to Cupidus triggers his counterattacks killing the enemy team with AOE A1. Venus can optionally be built with Accuracy to remove the buffs from enemies. Keep in mind that Polymorph can be a problem for this and is not required for this to work. Two other support champions that can ensure the survival of Cupidus are a good idea. Nekhret is the best in slot while champions like Goffred, Pythion, Duchess, Ukko are only some of the possible alternatives.
Teams that rely on being fast and most of the defensive ones crumble before the duo. The main problems Venus Cupidus encounters are teams with Mortu-Macaab, that can one shot through the Nekhret Shield. Ramantu Drakesblood can block the Cupidus passive skill and remove the buffs that guard Cupidus. Having a cleanser with high resistance is thus recommended.
In addition to Cupidus and Venus, other champions can be changed at your discretion. Here is an example of the team:
- Cupidus for dps.
- Venus for stripping the enemiy buffs and placing Decrease Def and Weaken debuff.
- Cardiel for cleansing debuffs and team up skill plus useful buffs.
- Goffred protecting the team with Bolster set and passive skill, as well as Sheep application.
