Raid Shadow Legends: Skullcrusher Champion Guide

Skullcrusher is an epic champion in Raid Shadow Legends from the Ogryn Tribes fraction. He is a very popular champion as he is the only epic who can buff your full team with counter-attack. This buff is one of the strongest skills in raid and can result in huge amounts of damage against clan boss. The only other champions who have this ability are legendries (Marytr, Valkyrie & Drokgul the Gaunt).

Skullcrushers other skills and abilities allow him to apply an ally protection on the team and an unkillable buff to himself when the counter-attack buff has been placed. Allowing your team to be more likely to survive for longer periods of time. While Skullcrusher is best in clan boss, he is also good in Fire Knight and Faction Wars. Furthermore, he is viable at all points of account progression, from early game to end game. This guide will provide information on how to use skullcrusher best at each of those different progression points (early game, mid game, late game & end game).

Skullcrusher Early Game Guide

If you’re lucky enough to pull Skullcrusher during your early game, congratulations! It’s one of the three AOE counterattack heroes in the game and it’s your fast track to good rewards. Skullcrusher (SC) is good as a support hero for your main Starter or campaign farmer.

Your priority is to get the Starter to 60 as per the guides, while Skullcrusher can work as lvl 40 or 50.

Ascend SC to 3 stars as soon as possible and book his a2 AOE counterattack ability. This will allow you to reap the most benefits. Since early game if you’re f2p you likely won’t 6 star Skullcrusher you won’t be able to utilise the warmaster and as such it’s not recommended to buy the masteries for him with gems.

Prioritise getting to late game and that is where SC will truly shine.

Gear & Stats Build

Without warmaster and good gear, just focus on defence and speed. You likely won’t have all the gear in the screenshot, especially the accessories. Your set should be lifestyle + anything

Early Game Clan Boss

For clan boss early on you won’t be able to utilise speed tuning and other complicated arrangements until mid and late game. You can use turn meter and speed boosters early on and still get some results.

You can use Skullcrusher in all content including the dungeons and arena. However, you should still focus on food with your campaign farmer and preparing to 6 star your core team.

Skullcrusher Mid Game Guide

Skullcrusher makes a fine addition to your core team for mid-game in all content. You will now want your SC at 60, ascended and booked until cooldown on A2 AOE counterattack. Having Warmaster is now a priority, as this will allow Skullcrusher himself to heal back in a lifesteal set, especially on clan boss.

Set: lifesteal + anything. Focus on defence with enough speed. More defence would be better, but as you can see even the items farmed in campaign and low level spider can produce decent results.

Clan Boss Mid Game

For clan boss with access to campaign items and some dungeons you can now try to build towards late game. Aiming for about 171 speed towards the end game allows you to achieve okay-ish results on Brutal and Nightmare clan boss.

AOE counterattack and ally protection allows SC to boost your team survivability during the dungeon waves and on the boss fights, so he can help you even more than in the early game with warmaster and lifesteal set. He is especially helpful in Fire Knight dungeon that can be difficult for new players. Dragon team can also benefit from skullcrusher skillset on the waves.

Skullcrusher Late Game Guide

Late Game is the beginning of specialization for builds. This build will be focused on Clan Boss and late game dungeons.

The masteries for Skullcrusher are selected to make him survive as long as he can. There are a few masteries that are important to tacke high-end content like Nightmare Clan Boss. Warmaster with lifesteal set is the staple for this build unless you have amazing healers, e.g. two Bad El Kazars in your team. Skullcrusher doesn’t buff counterattack on himself. In later rounds of Clan Boss this becomes a problem as his health dips very low.

In Late Game having Retribution and Deterrence masteries helps him counterattack the clan boss and hard hitting enemies and get some of the hp back. It’s a strong combination if utilised correctly. Do not use any masteries with skill recharge or turn meter boosting! It will mess everything up.

Skullcrusher passive skill does not prevent the stun and breaks up the speed tune, so avoid the clan boss stun if you’re using the classic speed tune.

Gear & Stats

Set: lifesteal + anything. Focus on defence with enough speed. The more defence you can get, the better. Some hp is nice to have so that SC can soak up more damage with ally protection. The main focus will be to keep the speed high enough for the speed tune

Late Game Clan Boss

We are now at the part where Skullcrusher lives up to his potential. A core concept for clan boss is speed tuning your team around skullcrusher counterattack.

If your SC has 171 speed and your other heroes have 172-181 speed you will be able to have counterattack up for heroes on both clan boss AOE attacks. This leads to massive damage output increase with t6 masteries and higher reliability of runs. This is conditional on no TM boosting masteries in the team and this is the classical speed tune. There are other variants of tunes discussed in Late Game+ pages. This speed can also work on UNM if the first two AOE attacks are skipped.

SC can help achieve high levels of dragon and Fire Knight. But, he can also be useful on Spider 20 as a tank.

Skullcrusher End Game guide

End Game is when your team can be min-maxed and unleash it’s full potential. Skullcrusher allows to reach the ultimate goals of the end game, e.g. 3 keying and 2 keying Ultra-Nightmare in a much easier manner.

Warmaster, Retribution masteries along with a lifesteal set are still a staple. You now have more options for equipment and are able to focus on dps more. Do note that the damage from the attacks themselves are only 75% of the stated damage, but this is still very much worth it. At this stage it’s worth it to book Skullcrusher A1 because every bit of damage counts.

Gear & Stats

Set: lifesteal + anything. Once you’ve reached the 4200 defense benchmark, the best skullcrusher build will have 100% crit rate and as much crit damage as you can build for extra dps. If you’ve got amazing items with good crit rate and speed substats you can wear 6 star def% boots.

The main focus will be to keep the speed high enough for the speed tune or explore more exotic tunes on the next guide page.
