Raid Shadow Legends: Warlord Champion Guide

Warlord is a legendary void affinity champion from the orc faction in Raid Shadow Legends. His A3 is a bit unique as it goes, it has a 70% chance to reduce everyone’s turn meter and also is able to lock out all opponents skills on maximum cooldown. His A3 can also be paired with a helpful A2, which blocks debuffs buff and heals. All in all, Warlord is an excellent hampion to use in Arena battles, Faction Wars and dungeons. His A1 also makes him viable for Clan Boss as it extends the duration of all debuffs, although he is most effective in manual battles here.

Warlord End Game Build Guide

Warlord is one of the most versatile champions in the game. His skillset allows him to be a debuff extender for clan boss with his A1, healing and protection on A2, effective AOE control on A3 and a significant resistance aura. This guide focuses on a build that is tailored for Arena and Doom Tower.

Skills

He has 2 key roles in both Doom Tower and Arena, and his masteries reflect these skills:

  • A3: Sets all enemy abilities on cooldown, effectively making them use A1 abilities until they cycle back. This ability ignores block debuffs. Cannot be dispelled or removed, can only be resisted. Has a chance on reducing Turn Meter, but this is not dependable.
  • A2: Heals all allies by percentage of Warlord’s HP, and places block debuffs.

As an offensive skill lock champion, you want Warlord to be as fast as possible to go before all enemy champions (with or without the help of a TM booster). You also want the Warlord A2 and A3 to come around as often as possible in order to repeatedly lock enemy skills out and heal your own team.

Masteries

For a “debuff” build (even though skill lock is not a debuff), Eagle Eye support tree build is best to maximise the Accuracy. Other useful masteries to note are:

  • Accuracy increasing masteries [Pinpoint] [Charged Focus]
  • Shield increasing [Shieldbearer] [Rejuventation]
  • Speed stat increasing [Lore of Steel]
  • TM reduction [Retribution] with [Evil Eye] for more TM control

Gear & Stats Build

Warlord needs to be as fast as possible with a high accuracy for late game content. Typically, speed should be about 250 with 2 tm boosters or 300 with 1 booster, with an accuracy appropriate for the level of opponent (e.g., 400-500 for high end arena and DT).

Prioritise the following substats: 1) speed, 2) accuracy, 3) HP%. Speed sets are ideal for this champion, but precision sets are a worthwhile alternative with good speed sub-stats.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Weapon/Helm/Shield: with speed, acc, HP% substat
  • Glove: HP%, with speed and acc substat
  • Chest: Acc, with speed and HP% substat
  • Boots: Speed, with Acc and HP% substat
  • Ring: HP, with HP% and Def% substat
  • Amulet: HP, with acc substat
  • Banner: Acc, with speed and HP% substat

Any cooldown reset accessories are extremely favourable, which is easier for the ring and amulet items with no speed substats.

Doom Tower Waves

Warlord can shine in difficult content in Raid where other champions struggle. He can lock down powerful enemy combinations, such as Siphi and Rotos above floor 110, provide shields and heals against Scarab Lord, as well as other 2 spider bosses. Note that some champion secret skills cannot be locked (e.g., Peril by Mortu) or some champions have a fasts turn around for their skills (e.g. Rotos extra turn).

One of the annoying aspects of DT waves with Siphi and Rotos is their passive synergy: (Siphi removes all debuffs from Rotos the Lost Groom at the start of their turn if they are on the same team.) This renders standard Crowd Control, such as freeze, sleep, stun, or even block skill debuffs ineffective.

Furthermore, if the enemy Siphi gets a turn, her block debuffs makes your life harder unless you strip the buffs first. Either way, putting skills on cooldown by Warlord or Basher (budget Warlord) is effective – as it is not considered a debuff and cannot be removed. If you have speed and TM buffs, your warlord can cycle around to using a3, forever denying the enemy champions to use any ability other than A1.

Your other team members should complement Warlord. I recommend 1-2 more support/healer, and 2-3 damage champions. In this video a team of Krisk, Siphi, with Rotos and Candraphone were selected. There are many other possibilities to construct a team for those floors such as: Seer, Duchess, Nethril, Raglin, and BEK.

Warlord AI

Getting Warlord to prioritise A3 is tough. It seems that a Siphi lead with block debuffs helps warlord to priortise A3, otherwise you may need to manual things in Doom Tower in the first few rounds. Likewise in arena defence, it is recommended to pair a fast warlord with a fast siphi.

Arena Runs

Warlord is not going to set world records in fast farming of Platinum Arena, but it’s one of the best champions in a sustain team if built with high accuracy, speed and resistance. The key is to work with support champions to block enemy skills and grind them down slowly. All attacking champions such as Trunda and Rotos find it difficult to get through Warlord defences if they don’t get to go first and have their skills locked out. Tormin has difficulties to attack through block debuffs.

Ensure going first by using a Valkyrie and Tormin to make the enemy bring either immunity or a fast siphi, but use Valkyrie to counter Siphi speed boost and allow your own to cut in.

Recommended Team Composition

  1. Siphi (fast, 350-370)
  2. Warlord (fast, 300-320, medium acc 400-500)
  3. Tormin (shield set with 400 acc)
  4. Valk (medium high acc 500) / Crowd Control
  5. Hege (high acc 500-600).

Keep in mind that Warlord can be still countered in this setup.

Crowd Control Hegemon can cause a lot of issues by locking Warlord out before he gets a turn. The same applies if your team with Warlord doesn’t go first and gets wiped out in one rotation of enemy attacks. Fast buff stripping can be an issue when Warlord is defending and champions that can overtake him can be a serious issue, e.g. Serris or Rae. Finally, some fast champions can lock out Warlord on defence that have debuffs that can’t be resisted and are placed before warlord uses block debuffs. This includes Siphi and Ghostborn among others.

Overall Warlord is still one of the best champions in Raid at the moment and definitely worth building if you have him.
