RS3 Summoning Training Guide

Summoning is a predominantly a pay-to-play skill in Runescape 3, although free-to-play players can reach level 5 in the skill. It is a combat-related, buyable skill that can often be tedious to train. Largely due to the fact untradable charms are required to be collected to train Summoning and it can take a significant amount of time to collect them. For this reason it is recommended that players train summoning on Double Xp Weekends to maximise their efficiency.

When players are not restricted by charms they have available, summoning can be one of the fastest skills to train in Runescape 3. This guide will cover the fastest summoning training method and a list of alternative pouches to make depending on what charms and expenditure the player has available.

Fastest Summoning Training Methods

To train summoning using the fastest training methods players will need to use the Taverley method, using this it is possible to create 15,000 pouches per hour. For this method players should do the following:

  1. Sell 500 noted tertiary infredients to Pikkupstix.
  2. Buy back the ingredients and make pouches.
  3. Deposit pouches using a portable deposit box OR turn them into scrolls (fastest method).

Turning pouches into scrolls is significantly more expensive, but removes the requirement for a portable deposit box. Creating the scrolls also results in higher summoning experience rates per hour. This method only works in Taverley.

Below you can see the fastest route to 99 or 120 summoning in Runescape 3, providing the player has an unlimited amount of charms. If you are restricted in how much you can spend on summoning training or what charms you can use, skip to our alternative methods section.

Alternative Summoning Training Methods

Unlike most skills, summoning does not provide a lot of variety in terms of how it can be trained. Almost all efficient methods will involve creating a pouch of some sort at an Obelisk. However, not everyone can use the fastest summoning methods, maybe you can’t afford it or lack a specific type of charm at a specific level.

Below is a list of all the best pouches to create between different level brackets. This includes the best pouches to make with each type of charm, in case you have ran out of one specific type of charm and wish to continue summoning training with another type.
