Hurndig End Game Build Guide for Dark Fae floor 120
Hurndig was a fusion champion available June 2021 and is one of the most versatile non-void legendaries in the game. His kit allows him to play different roles depending on the builds including being a debuffer, TM reduction champion and a DPS in multiple areas of the game. He is worthy of being booked fully to achieve the maximum potential in late game.
This guide will focus on utilising his hybrid role to farm Dark Fae on floor 120 of Hard Doom Tower 3rd rotation. Hurnig will also be showcased as a campaign farmer as the stats he needs for this are rather budget.
In this guide we are going to focus on his particular mechanism in his A1. He gains an extra turn if he kills an enemy, which makes him particularly good to face your own team against Dark Fae in the doom tower. His TM depletion on A2 is also important even if it’s only 50% effective against her.
Masteries
In terms of masteries, obtaining the maximum damage and Accuracy as possible is the goal, but the most important one is WHIRLWIND OF DEATH that makes him gain 6 speed for each enemy he kills (up to a maximum of 18). This is going to be very important since Hurndig needs to be the fastest of the team when he reaches the third wave that contains the boss.
Otherwise you can select Helmsmasher if your critical damage is higher than 230%, Flawless Execution if you prefer more stable results or even Warmaster if you’re using him in other content such as Hydra. This build’s main concern is the balance of the damage that Hurndig deals against the HP of your own champions to enable him to reliably clean the waves and your own clones at the boss stage
Gear & Stats Build
In this build, the most important things are damage and speed. Hurndig must be the fastest of the team to take advantage of the fact that he gains an extra turn by killing an enemy to be able to do the Dark Fae run in auto and forget about what abilities he uses in the previous waves.
Regarding the damage, it must be able to kill your own champions, either because Hurndig has a lot of Crit Damage or because your champions are very weak. It may also be a combination of both. The accuracy required will depend on how much TM control you have in the rest of your team. If you need to use the Stasis Strike at level 120 of the Doom Tower on hard, you will need 300+ ACC.
Recommended Main Stats:
- Gloves: Crit Damage
- Chest: ATK%
- Boots: Speed
- Ring: ATK
- Amulet: Crit Damage
- Banner: ATK/Accuracy
Team Compositions and Tactics
The idea behind this team is to guarantee that Hurndig is the fastest when reaching the Boss wave and that your team is fast but not very tanky, so no matter what skill Hurndig uses during the waves, it is going to guarantee to kill your own team in his sequence of hits.
Team Composition and roles for this battle are as follows:
- Lyssandra as speed lead that provides an aura that Fae copies can’t possess, AOE TM reduction and targeted TM depletion, Speed buffs for the team.
- Alures for the best targeted TM reduction in the game. Make sure to disable their skills apart from the A1 for the best results.
- Hurndig for the wave clear, boss clear, TM reduction as well as Decrease DEF and Weaken debuffs
- Coldheart in the first team for TM depletion and MAX HP nuke to speed up the runs.
Royal Guard can also be used in place of Coldheart, this is a bit safer because he places Decrease Speed on the boss making the runs smoother.
Campaign Farming
Hurndig is also one of the fastest brutal campaign farmers in the game if the gear is on a decent level thanks to his skills that allow him to use his AOE attacks against weak enemies every single turn.
While he is outclassed in end game scenarios by the fastest animation farmers such as Fellhound as demonstrated by its guide on the bot, Hurndig is one of the few champions in the game suited to be a fast campaign farmer even over starter champions.
Faction Wars
Hurndig is able to speed up the Faction War runs considerably due to the combination of his DPS and skills, sometimes more than halving the time it takes to complete FW 21. Although this Hurding is built purely with Speed and DPS, it will always help to get some additional ACC for the AOE decrease DEF, especially if you do not have Trunda.
Team Composition and roles for this battle are as follows:
- Tormin provides the CC on the waves.
- Brogni is in a Shield set to protect the rest of the team, though he can easily work without it. ATK UP and Block Debuffs are also highly sought after skills in this fight.
- Mountain King with a lot of HP and damage to lower the life of the boss faster.
- Trunda and Hurding purely for fast damage.
Royal Guard is a bit safer because he places Decrease Speed on the boss making the runs smoother.
Hurndig End Game Build Guide for Arena
Hurndig is highly versatile and there is a subset of use cases for Snaildig – Hurndig with low speed and high damage who is saved by other champions like Nekhret from perishing. This is the focus of this build.
Masteries
The masteries are standard for an arena/PvE waves nuker – main tree being Offence all the way down to Helmsmasher (which is recommended over Flawless Execution if we can reach the required 200-220+% crit damage).
Deadly Precision is recommended for making the build easier to critcap. Heart of Glory and Single out are the default T2 choices, for T3 Single Out so that Hurndig can have a better chance at finishing off a lower HP target and getting the extra turn (especially useful for Doom Tower waves where the mobs are the tankiest), Lifedrinker is for some PvE sustain (DT waves, dungeons, FW); in T4 Bring It Down (which is almost always going to trigger) and Wrath of the Slain help with dealing more damage; Cycle of Violence is of less importance due to the A1 extra turns + A3 reset which means a CoV proc might go to waste and reduce the A3 cooldown by one; in T5 Methodical and Kill Streak are chosen mostly for PvE content for Hurndig to be able to get the extra turns easier and increase his damage over the course of the run (especially useful against DT waves).
As a secondary tree we Support was chosen so that he can still have some chance at applying his debuffs in an otherwise damage build for dungeons, FW and some lower resistance arena champions such as most enemy Arena nukers – Pinpoint Accuracy, Charged Focus and Swarm Smiter can all increase accuracy, and Lore of Steel synergizes well if you’re running sets such as Cruel, Perception, Accuracy and Speed.
Gear & Stats Build
The best set for nuker Hurndig in arena and PvE waves is Savage/Lethal, followed by Cruel and Crit Damage (as the ideal combination is Savage+Cruel for the 30% defense ignore).
In cases when Hurndig is the main damage dealer in Arena, Accuracy can be mostly ignored (around 160-200 is ok if it’s not intentionally sacrificing from other stats). The priority should fall on reaching 100% Crit rate (so that his A3 always double hits unless he weak hits vs Force chamions or there’s a reaction proc), Attack, Crit damage and Speed if you’re using him in a speed team.
If you have a way to protect him (e.g. Nekhret), and run a go-second team not least due to the prevalence of Reaction accessories and Stone Skin, it’s recommended for the speed to be low due to his Passive – each hit fills his turn meter by 10% and if his Speed is too high, enemy hits might excessively fill his turn meter so he take a turn before your key buffers/debuffers which decreases his efficiency and might lead to losses due to the lesser damage output.
