Turvold Clan Boss Build Guide

Turvold is a Void affinity Barbarian Legendary champion that has one of the highest single target damage output in the game. This makes him a top tier damage dealer for Clan Boss if the conditions are met. His A3, Juggernaut, is capable of scaling with the number of buffs he has. If you like seeing Big Damage numbers, Turvold is the champion for you! Build a team around him and you’ll see those Big Numbers everyday in your CB battles.

People often avoid using Turvold in Clan Boss because he is quite difficult to speedtune in a team. He places increase speed on himself and gains extra turns which cycles the important buffs on him like counterattack, increase defense, or unkillable on him too quickly leaving him exposed. However, with the discovery of the Clan Boss turn meter mechanics, proper speedtunes and using the CB calculators it is possible to utilize Turvold in a tuned team. This guide will showcase Turvold in an Unkillable and standard Non-Unkillable Counterattack teams.

Booking Turvold is necessary as he benefits from a lower cooldown on both of his skill. Additionally, Turvold is all about doing dps, so getting the damage increase from the books matters as well.

Masteries

Masteries on Turvold will be the standard CB ones. In the Offense tree, take Crit Rate, Crit Damage and all the CB damage increasing masteries on the left down to Warmaster. Life drinker is an important mastery to take for lifesteal when under 50% Health. Turvold does big hits, so even the 5% lifesteal heals a lot. This will enable to counterattack mastery on the Defense Tree which we will discuss now. In the Defense Tree, take the Damage mitigation mastery in Tough Skin, Blastproof, Delayed Death, into Retribution and Deterrence.

Those Masteries can be used for both Unkillable and Non-unkillable teams.

Unkillable Clan Boss Teams with Turvold

This first build will be used for a double Maneater unkillable team that uses Turvold as one of the DPS champions. The most important stat for any unkillable team is the speed. In this team, Turvold needs to be between 152–158 speed. Turvold also grants himself a 30% Crit Rate Buff, so you only need to build him with 70% Crit Rate.

Once you have the required Speed and Crit Rate, you can focus entirely on Attack and Crit Damage. 5k+ Attack and 250%+ Crit Damage is ideal for the Big Damage numbers in Late Game+. If you need him to apply Weaken, an accuracy of 240+ is recommended for Ultra-Nightmare Clan Boss. You can ignore accuracy if it’s not needed.

The best set for Turvold in an Unkillable team is Fury + Cruel but any combination of damage dealing sets like Cruel, Offense and Crit Damage are also an option. Due to the incredibly low speed needed for Turvold in this particular composition, you can quite easily gear Turvold without Speed boots and use all ATK % main stat items.

Recommended Main Stats:

  • Glove: Crit Damage
  • Chest: ATK %
  • Boots: ATK %
  • Ring: Attack
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: Attack

Team Compositions and Tactics

This is an Unkillable UNM team that features Turvold as one of the DPS champions that is also built specifically to take advantage of Fu-shan’s Speed Aura. So, the speed on all the champions is lower than what they need to be without Fu-shan’s Aura but will hit the required speed in battle with the speed aura.

The speed settings used for this team are:

  1. 194 Maneater (218 after speed aura)
  2. 191 ME (214 after speed aura)
  3. 149 Kreela (172 after speed aura)
  4. 150 Fu-shan (175 after speed aura)
  5. 132 Turvold (154 after speed aura)

This is a team combination that takes advantage of Fu-shan and Kreela that provide Speed Aura and increase Crit Rate buff for the team. This allows everyone in this team to be built much better with the reduced stat requirement (Less speed and only 70% crit rate). This team has Decrease Defense from Fu-shan, Weaken from Turvold, Increase Attack, Crit Rate, and ally attack from Kreela to take advantage of everyone’s hard hitting A1, especially Fu-shan’s and Turvold’s. Two Maneaters provide permanent Block Debuffs and Unkillable for the team to function.

This team works on UNM, NM, and on all affinities. There is a manual setup before you can hit auto.

Turvold unkillable clan boss team

Standard Non-unkillable CA Clan Boss Teams with Turvold

In a standard Non-Unkillable CA team gearing Turvold will be different. In this specific team Turvold needs to be between 106–110 speed. Yes, you have read that right, he needs to be that slow. The next section showcasing the team will explain the reason for this.

Turvold gives himself a 30% Crit Rate Buff, so you only need to build him with 70% Crit Rate. Since this is a non-unkillable team, Defense must also be considered when building Turvold. You want to build him with around 2.5k-3k Defense, with as much Attack and Crit Damage as possible, at least 4.5k+ Attack and 200%+ Crit Damage to deal significant dps. If you need him to apply Weaken, an accuracy of 220-250 is recommended. You can ignore accuracy if it is not needed.

Lifesteal set is a must for a non-unkillable team (unless you have a Leech debuff) combined with any 2-piece set that gives you the stats you need such as Cruel, Offense, Crit Damage etc. Alternatively you can use items with good substat procs. Due to the incredibly low speed needed for Turvold in this comp, you can quite easily gear Turvold without Speed boots and with all ATK/Def% main stat items with minimal speed substats.

You can use any combination of ATK/DEF% pieces and accessories to give you the recommended stats above.

Recommended Main Stats

  • Glove: Crit Damage
  • Chest: ATK/DEF %
  • Boots: ATK/DEF %
  • Ring: Attack/Def
  • Amulet: Crit Damage
  • Banner: Attack/Def

Team Compositions and Tactics

This is a specific team built to utilize Turvold in a speedtuned UNM CA team. The champions used in this team and their speed settings are as follows:

  1. 252 Sepulcher Sentinel (Provides Inc Def, Block Stun, Dec Atk)
  2. 226 Kreela (Provides Inc Crit Rate, Inc Atk, Ally Attack)
  3. 191 Skullcrusher (Provides CA, Ally protection)
  4. 175 Rhazin (Provides Def Def, Weaken, DPS)
  5. 106 Turvold (Provides Pure DPS)

This is a team combination specifically created to make Turvold shine. Sepulcher is running at a 4:3 to block the stun every time. Kreela is also running 4:3 to permanently give the team Increase Crit Rate Buff and perform ally attack when Dec Def/Weaken are placed to maximize damage. Rhazin provides the Dec Def/Weaken and secondary DPS. Skullcrusher with the team Counterattack and Ally Protection buff.

With Turvold at 106 speed, he is running at 2:3, meaning he takes 2 turns for every 3 CB turns. In this team, he only takes a turn before AOE1 and after AOE2. He does not take a turn between AOE1 and AOE2. This means that he will have all the defensive buffs (Increase Def, Block Debuff, CA, Ally Protect) permanently allowing him to survive with only 2.5k-3k Def. His Extra turn skill is timed to be used before any buffs are placed so he doesn’t lose any buffs and his A3 Juggernaut is also timed to be used when he has the greatest number of buffs(7) on him for maximum damage.

This team unfortunately only works on UNM and as with any CA team, works on all affinities except Spirit due to the slow debuff.

Turvold Myth Fu Composition Build Guide

This guide is specific to Myth Fu composition (Turvold/Heiress/Demytha/Seeker/Fushan) the guides can be used as a general guide for any of these champs as the concepts remain the same for any Demytha Unkillable team. Keep in minds the speed will be different for other compositions.

Turvold is one of the best DPS champions in this team. He is Void affinity and doesn’t weak hit and provides Weaken debuff. His DPS is based on the number of buffs. Turvolds book value is pretty high for this team. If you are able to book out both Fushan and Turvold, then do it. However, if you can to choose either of them, bok Fushan first.

Masteries

The masteries used are similar to standard CB unkillable masteries with Offense and Defense trees. The Masteries for this team and Turvold are fairly similar, they look like most Clan Boss Masteries. We take the Offense tree primarily for Warmaster, and the % increases in damage to make Turvold hit harder. We take the Defense tree solely for Deterrence, the Counter-Attack Mastery when an ally is stunned. Retribution doesn’t work for this team as no one loses health due to Block Buffs.

It isn’t recommended to take the Support tree as the extra counter attacks provide lots of additional DPS, but, if you are struggling to have the Accuracy to make sure Turvold lands his Weaken, it is possible. As always for unkillable compositions avoid anything that boosts Turn Meter unless it is an exception.

Gear & Stats Build

For Turvold, we need to build him for as much damage as we can. For this team we need Turvold to be at 173 Speed. There is wiggle room with the Speed for this team, however, it is very tight.

So if you’re planning to use similar but not this exact Speed, it’s recommended you check to make sure that the team is still tuned. It’s hard to give a generic range for this team as the Speed on one champ will impact another, unlike Budget Unkillable that can have any champion in a certain range.

Recommended Stats

  1. 220+ Accuracy (Turvold applies Weaken in this composition)
  2. 4-5k Attack and 100% Crit Rate/ 230%+ Crit Damage

Recommended Sets

  1. Retaliation (best set by a margin)
  2. Damage sets (Savage, Crit Damage, Cruel, Lethal etc…)
  3. Perception

Recommended Main Stats

  • Gloves: Crit Damage
  • Chest: Attack% or Accuracy
  • Boots: Attack% or Speed
  • Ring: Counter-Attack preference, if you don’t have any, Attack
  • Amulet: Counter-Attack preference, if you don’t have any, Crit Dmg
  • Banner: Counter-Attack preference, if you don’t have any, Accuracy or Attack

Team Composition

Turvold is pretty straight forward in this team. It is recommended to set his A2 as first priority. The team will sync up either way, however in practice it seems to be deal slightly more damage by delaying the A2 by 1 turn.

  1. Turvold – There is one DPS spot for this team and his goal here is to hit hard and provide the Weaken debuff. You can substitute him with any other champion, just check DWJ calculator to make sure of the speed tune.
  2. Heiress – She cleanses immediately after each turn, so the Stuns and Decrease Attack/Speed get instantly removed, which makes this team affinity friendly.
  3. Fushan – His Speed Aura makes this team much easier to build. Decrease Defense accounts for a large portion of our damage and finally, we NEED another Force champion to make sure Heiress doesn’t take the Stun for Spirit affinity.
  4. Seeker – Constant Turn Meter boosts make the team function and skills line up properly, Atk up buff.
  5. Demytha – She goes on a 3:1 with the Clan Boss, so that she uses her Block Damage right before the Clan Boss goes every single time, alongside this she also uses her A2 directly after Heiress, which increases the Increase Speed Buff, keeping everything in sync.

Potential Alternatives

  • Fushan – you don’t need Decrease Defense, however it is a lot of damage, the central reason to have him is Force Affinity and Speed Aura, your DPS can be Force instead of Turvold, but you will still need a Speed Lead Aura
  • Seeker – There are variants using other speed boosters like Deacon.
