Basilisks are unlocked when the player reaches level 40 slayer. To be assigned Basilisks, you will also need 20 defence, the requirement to wield a mirror shield. As a Mirror Shield or V’s Shield must be worn while fighting Basilisks. It will also cost you 80 slayer points to unlock the “Basilocked” slayer reward that allows Duradel, Nieve and Konar to assign Basilisks.

How to get to Basilisks in OSRS?

Basilisks can be found in two locations; the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon and Jormungand’s Prison. The Fremennik Dungeon is the more popular location for players killing Basilisks. To reach the Dungeon you can use the following methods:

The Basilisks are weak to crush attacks, weapons such as the inquisitors mace work very well. Players on an extremely tight budget may also opt to use the dragon mace, which is surprisingly good here.

What to pray against Basilisk?

Basilisks only attack with a slash-based melee attack. So, protect from melee can be used, but if you have good defence it is not needed or advised.

Do Basilisks drop the Basilisk Jaw?

No, regular Basilisks do not drop the jaw. Only the Basilisk Knight, a more powerful version of the Basilisk will drop the Basilisk jaw.
