The Tumeken’s Shadow is widely regarded as the best magic weapon in the game. It is a two-handed staff that requires a minimum of 85 magic to use. This item is a super rare reward from completing the Tombs of Amascut. Tumeken’s Shadow has a built-in magic spell, similar to the weaker Sanguinesti Staff, Toxic Trident and Trident of the Seas. It can not be used to auto-cast any type of spells, from any of the spell books.
Tumeken’s shadow Stats
Passive Effect
The shadow staff benefits from a passive effect, which only applies to its built-in spell. The players magic attack bonus and damage are tripled when using the spell. For example, if you have a magic damage bonus of 10% it will boost to 30%. This is four times as much in the Tombs of Amascut instead of the usual 3 times multiplier. However, the effect also applies to negative bonuses, tripling any negatives they provide.
Max hit
The maximum hit of the staff varies and is solely dependant on the player’s current magic level, similar to most staffs with an in-built spell. The equation is as follows:
Any magic damage bonuses are applied after the base max hit calculation.
The max hit is multiplied by three thanks to the passive effect, but is dependant on the type of gear being used. An example table for the max hits of Tumeken’s Shadow outside of ToA can be seen below.
While inside ToA, the multiplier is a 4 times multiplier as opposed to the previous 3 times multiplier. This allows for a max hit of up to 80 with max magic damage bonus and 125 magic. The table for ToA max hits can be seen below.
Charging the Shadow Staff
Similar to the Scythe of Vitur, this weapon can also be charged with up to 20,000 charges. Each charge or cast will cost 2 soul runes and 5 chaos runes, this is roughly 1,000 coins per cast. To fully charge you will need 40,000 soul runes and 100,000 chaos runes.
